Hello Ice Lovers!! More good news!!!
We not only have our $50,000 grant from the USDA RURAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT GRANT to have a Feasibility Study done. We have chosen ECONorthwest from Washington State to complete the study!!! ECONorthwest completed a study for Leavenworth a few years ago to see if the City of Leavenworth’s concept of a seasonal Rink would make sense/ be feasible. 😉.                                                                                                                   Speaking of a City, I have heard concerns – this is an opportunity to clear a few things up.
We are a Non-profit organization, with NO financial support from the City of Pateros. There is no tax money or City money that will used to create this great economic driver for our area and for our kids ( of all ages!).                                     This a great activity center for our youth during the winters months with ice skating, hockey, figure skating, etc.   Oh, did I mention- there are grants for hockey uniforms and equipment!! That is how Winthrop gets their children’s gear. We can do it also!!

During the non-winter months we envision still envision a great activity center for our kids if all ages: Pickle Ball, roller hockey, roller skating, etc. Year round use!! Birthday parties, events!

The (North Central Washington) NCW Sports Rink and Event Center has great NEWS!

We have been awarded a $50,000.00 for a Feasibility Study from the USDA Rural Business Development Grant!

What does this mean? This study is a normal and very necessary step to evaluate if this project will be successful and to move forward to seek donors, additional grants and loans.

The Rink is especially interested in the positive ECONOMIC impact for NCW businesses.  The study will also determine potential obstacles, create a market analysis and help potential stakeholders understand all aspects of the project to determine whether they want to move forward.

The Rink Board has interviewed two companies that performed Feasibility Studies for Ice and Hockey rinks with year-round use potential: Pickel Ball, roller hockey, events, etc.  We are presently in the selection process and will announce the company selected close to the end of this month.
